Our Bell Choir has spent hours perfecting the art of creating
music as an orchestra of bells.

The Hand Bell Choir was selling Cook Books as a side fund
raising activity, produced by the Choir
Members until the
choir was disbanded early 2003.
The Hand bell Choir at Christ the King was started ten years ago. The choir has been playing and performing ever since its inception. Of the original choir there are three remaining members: Elise Westerlund who is now the hand bell director, Carol Johnson, and Bonnie Pollock. The newer members are Rosamalia Arriaga and Jan Grandjean.
The Hand bell Choir attended as many hand bell workshops and conferences as possible. Often times those functions were out of the local traveling area, so the choir traveled long distances to attend these functions, such as, American Guild of English Hand bell Ringers Area XII Reno Conference. This Area XII Conference is held every two years in one of the following locations: Nevada, California, Hawaii, or Guam. In 2003 the hand bell choir conference was held in Reno.
Christ the King Hand bell Choir was solely funded by the Christ the King church and its congregation. The choir held fundraisers to help purchase music and the necessary musical equipment. The choir published a cook book June 9th (2002) as a fundraiser.
The hand bell choir had no director as of 2003 If you are interested in Re-Organizing and Directing, please contact the church at 582-1222. It has been a rewarding program.
Miscel...
We as Members of Christ the King Lutheran visit other churches from
time to time. David, Brandon & Bryce visited the Church of Christ, Bible
Class last 10/2002.

Each Sunday brings many past members back to visit. Sunday,
10/19/03 found Mary and Bob back (on each side of Arlene). It was great to
see you.

Sunday, 9/21/03 was Blue Jean Sunday when we wear our work clothing
to Church Service and then perform our maintenance duties afterwards.
Lunch is served along with these activities. This can be used as a
community outreach as well by inviting our friends who have special talents and
abilities who could help in our efforts. All activities require
supervision and the supervisory/worker qualities soon show themselves.
Pet Sunday occurs in July each year. This is a chance for all to pets to
the Church Service. This is always an interesting service to say the
least. But, in the end, we all enjoy that which God has given us to
enhance our daily living.

After Service, we have coffee hour in the Social Hall or Outside as weather
dictates. It is a very social time of the week to gather and be God's
Family which gives us a full parking lot.
The above two graphics are thumbnails. Click on them to see the larger view. The construction of this ramp will enable all Church Goers to enjoy the Architecturally Pleasing Grand Entry way into the Church that accommodates an easy access by all worshippers. It will enclose a small patio area that can be used for outdoor weddings or other occasions in the summertime.
We started our project recently, and included are some progress pictures.
Click on each picture to expand the size. As you can see, progress is being made with those energetic volunteers under the supervision of Bob. More information will follow.
We found the Social hall to be very inefficient and hard to heat a few years back. We then built the upper level floor to replace the vaulted openness to corral the heat, make the upper floor more useful and safer.
The effort was
memorable.
Cutting, sawing, placing,
and building,
brought a
constructive change to our church, our congregation, and to the pre-school,
T.C.N.S., Tahoe City Nursery School, who also provides services to our community
youth and parents alike.
